Job Title: Designer
Required: Bachelor’s in Architecture, Urban Design or similar; & 24 months experience in architectural or urban design. In lieu of primary requirements employer will accept Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or similar.
Special Requirements: Must have demonstrated proficient knowledge of: AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhinoceros, 3DS Max, Grasshopper, Sketchup, V-Ray, and Adobe Suites: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effect. Employer will accept Special Requirements gained through employment experience and/or academic coursework. An architects’ license is not required. All work will be supervised by a licensed architect.
Duties: The Designer performs the following architectural and urban design duties:
- Prepare scale architectural and urban design drawings under the supervision of licensed architect using computer-aided design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros, 3DS Max, Grasshopper, Sketchup, Photoshop, V-Ray, and other tools, that results in a full set of drawings for permitting and construction, including design development and construction drawings such as elevations, setbacks, and incorporation ekistics planning, etc.
- Apply Revit to compile survey drawings to create a comprehensive site plan for context analysis, 3D modeling, or report graphics;
- Research planning codes and requirements, demographics, and collect relevant project and precedent imagery;
- Provide architectural and urban design policy analysis of existing conditions;
- Participate and collaborate in design meetings with team members, consultants and clients;
- Prepare presentations for and attend public meetings related to projects;
- Participate and represent the Studio in Community outreach efforts in a professional manner;
- Collaborate with consultants in economics, transportation planning and traffic engineering, urban planning, environmental planning, and landscape architecture;
- Maintain digital and hard-copy assets of project designs;
- Contribute to writing and editing of design criteria, vision statements, and other content as part of architectural and planning documents;
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of coordination processes including meeting minutes between architect and client, governmental agency, tenant, and consultant;
- Prepare and implement corrections and changes architectural plans as directed by supervisor;
- Assist with project filings as directed by supervisor;
- Complete assignments on schedule and within budget.
